What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the name you choose to use (including the name you enter for your certificate). When you buy a room, we collect your billing details through our payment provider — we never see or store your full card number.

When you use the site, we keep records of your progress: which rooms you've opened, lessons you've completed, quiz results, and certificates earned. If you post in the Lounge, we store what you write along with the name you're chatting under.

If you apply to host with us, we collect the details you give us in your application and onboarding paperwork, including any payment details you provide for payouts.

Why we use it

We use your information to run your account and your access to rooms, to generate your certificate of completion, to let you participate in the Lounge, to send you emails you've asked for (like receipts, invites, reminders, and your certificate), and to keep the community safe by enforcing our rules.

We also use basic usage information to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to advertise to you.

Who we share it with

Only the providers we need to run the school: our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, and our payment processor. They process your information on our behalf to deliver the service — they don't use it for their own purposes.

We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members and community.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress records while your account is active. Certificate records are kept so your certificate can be verified later. Lounge messages may be kept after deletion for safety and moderation purposes. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal details; records we must keep for legal or safety reasons are kept only as long as needed.

Your choices and rights

You can update the name on your certificate from the site (a limited number of corrections, so the name stays trustworthy). You can sign out from any device, and you can ask us to export or delete your data at any time.

To make a request, use our Contact page or write to life@livingroomschool.org. We'll respond as quickly as we reasonably can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy law — we honor those too.

Cookies and storage

We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (like your chat name in the Lounge). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Your data is stored with an encrypted connection and access is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously and act quickly if something goes wrong.

Changes and contact
