Terms of Service

1. What this is
Living Room School is a small digital school for practical life skills. When you join, you get access to our workshop rooms, their lessons and quizzes, the Lounge, and a certificate of completion when you finish a room.
By creating an account, buying a room, or using the site in any way, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login details private and for anything that happens through your account. You must give us accurate information when you sign up, and the name you enter for your certificate should be your real name — you can correct it, but only a limited number of times.
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live to buy a room. If you're buying for a young person, do it through your own account.
3. Memberships, rooms and payment
Rooms are purchased one at a time. When you buy a room, you get access to that room's lessons, quiz and certificate. Prices are shown before you pay, and payment is processed by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card details.
Access to a purchased room continues for the access period shown at checkout. We may change prices for future purchases, but a room you've already paid for keeps its terms.
If a payment fails or is reversed, we may pause access to the room until it's resolved.
4. What you get — and what you don't
Our workshops are for education, reflection, and community. They are built on lived experience, not professional licensing.
Our hosts may not necessarily be licensed therapists, financial advisors, medical professionals, or attorneys unless a specific license or credential is stated in their bio. Nothing in a room, a lesson, the Lounge, or a certificate is medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice. If you need that kind of help, please consult a licensed professional — and if you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
Finishing a room earns you a certificate of completion. It's a recognition of your participation — it is not a license, a degree, or a professional credential.
5. The Lounge and community conduct
The Lounge is a shared space for members. Be respectful — harassment, abuse, spam, and links to outside sites or offers are not allowed, and messages that break the rules may be removed.
You may not sell, advertise, or promote anything in the Lounge or in a room, and you may not contact members off-platform to sell them something. What's shared in the Lounge is personal — don't repost or share another member's words outside it.
6. What you can't do
You may not copy, download (except where we offer it), resell, or redistribute our lessons, curriculum, or materials. You may not share your account, scrape the site, or use it to build a competing product. You may not record sessions or use member content for your own purposes.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or harms other members or our community — and if we do because you broke the rules, no refund is owed.
7. Our content
All Living Room School lessons, curriculum, branding, and materials belong to Living Room School. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own learning while your membership or room access is active. Certificates are personal to you.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the site running, but we provide it as-is. We may add, change, pause, or retire rooms, features, and the Lounge at any time. If we retire a room you've purchased and can no longer deliver it, we'll make it right — a refund or equivalent access.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the update.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Living Room School isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for anything related to the site is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Contact and disputes
Questions about these terms? Use our Contact page or write to life@livingroomschool.org.
If a dispute comes up, we'd like to sort it out with you directly first. Where the law allows, disputes are handled individually — not as part of a class action.
